At Commonwealth, Kol helps advisors make financial planning easier and more effective by lowering psychological and behavioral roadblocks that often get in clients’ way. He helps them align their actions with their goals.
Kol has been with Commonwealth since 1999. After spending nearly 20 years helping build out their industry-leading advisor technology suite, he is now working to strengthen the connection between those in the community of advisors and the home office team, as well as to connect them to our most valuable tools and resources. In addition, he is passionate about financial behavior, with a hunger for making financial planning easier and more effective by helping advisors leverage the latest behavioral insights and techniques.
Kol has been honored in Investment Advisor magazine’s IA25, a list of the most influential people in our industry, for his work at the intersection of technology and financial psychology. His writing has been featured in InvestmentNews, The Journal of Financial Planning, and ThinkAdvisor, and he has spoken at numerous industry conferences, notably as keynote of the Financial Planning Association’s Retreat.
Kol received his BA in economics from Brandeis University and his MAPP degree from Penn. He completed Harvard's OPM program. He is a Certified Usability Analyst; holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 securities registrations; and has the CFP® certification.
Kol enjoys adventures with his family, mountain biking, chopping wood, and supporting those who are helping America live out our most inspiring ideals.
