Personal information

Bio
I thrive on connecting people to what they need: another person, a piece of information, an idea … or all three. The more I learn, the more connections I see. And the more connections I see, the better I can help people and organizations get things done efficiently and effectively. I see the big picture and the smallest details and can dance nimbly between the two.

I have a strong background in project management, process development, knowledge management & curation. I love working on small, close-knit teams who are striving toward a common goal. I build trust quickly by working hard, sharing ideas and information, being empathetic and people-focused.

After 15+ years of program & project management experience across multiple industries (~10 in leadership development), I'm shifting into leadership development coaching and consulting to apply positive psychology principles to help people, teams, and organizations flourish. I'm also passionate about animal welfare and finding ways to help those helpers better care for themselves.

People, Place, and Pokémon: How Location-Based Games Enhance Well-Being

Social connections and relationships are a critical component of overall human flourishing and well-being. Over time, the structure of physical spaces and how we engage with each other has changed. This paper explores how social ties impact well-being and how advances in technology have shifted people’s conception of public and private spaces and how we interact with each other in them It also examines both the positive and negative effects of video games on social connections and well-being with a focus on location-based games like Pokémon Go which blur the line between physical and virtual reality. It concludes with suggestions for how the disconnected disciplines of new media, place, and positive psychology can come together to explore the potential of location-based games to improve human well-being at scale.
