I have my master’s degree in positive psychology. In contrast to traditional psychology, positive psychology is a strengths-based approach. It articulates that everyone has qualities that they are good at, and we can help them build on those skills.
Traditional psychology typically focuses on correcting what is wrong vs building on what’s already going right. This framework of building on what’s going right has shaped my professional career.
The most rewarding work I’ve done is when I get to help others reach for their full potential. Whether that’s helping to mentor new hires, searching for ways to make a process smoother, or just cheering on a colleague when they apply for a promotion.
I enjoy working in competitive team environments where everyone strives to improve their work while still supporting each other.
