Bio
Sarah serves as a program director for the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles . She runs the jBabies program to connect new parents who recently had a baby with one another and the larger community. As a new mom herself she loves helping others build their village during this time and strives to help families build meaningful connections with one another while also learning from developmental experts through group programming. The program is run in partnership with PJ Library which sends free Jewish books to children and connects families within local communities. In her role prioritizes 1-1 relationships through welcoming everyone personally to the community and helping foster connections amongst group members. Sarah also has a private college counseling practice where she advises students and parents through the comprehensive application process through a lens of strengths and self growth.
She previously served as a Positive Psychology Teacher and Associate Director of College Counseling at Milken Community School, a Jewish middle and high school in Los Angeles. She also serves as a consultant on Positive Education for many Jewish organizations across the country. Before returning to her hometown of LA she served as College Counseling Director at Xavier Academy in Houston and worked in the admissions office at Rice University and Marymount Manhattan College. Sarah launched Xavier Academy’s positive education program and trainings. She also taught positive psychology at Xavier and Kehillah High, a Jewish high school. Sarah loves helping students, educators, and parents thrive and cultivate resilience.
Sarah enjoys leading positive education trainings and workshops to organizations and also specialized on the link between positive psychology and Judaism. Her capstone focused on positive Jewish education, a pathway to thriving in 21st century Jewish education. Through her work at Milken and the Jewish Federation she has been able to bring her capstone to life.
Sarah lives in the Pacific Palisades area of LA with her husband, their toddler daughter, and goldendoodle.
