Tricia Fox Ransom is a singer-songwriter and thought leader on lyrics and well-being. With a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from The University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Music from Naropa University, Tricia has studied music and lyrics' ability to create a safe place that softens the human experience.
Tricia's capstone, "Message In The Music: Do Lyrics Influence Well-Being?" has been downloaded over 200,000 times across the world. Her work continues to inform her innovative programs that bridge music and positive psychology.
Currently, Tricia is the creator of Lyrics in Schools, a research-supported professional development program that helps K-12 educators integrate social-emotional learning and positive psychology through song sharing. Customizable for grades 1–12, the program transforms students' favorite songs into tools for emotional regulation, strength spotting, and classroom connection. She also developed Your Happiness Era, a 6-week online course exploring positive psychology concepts through the music and career of Taylor Swift, designed for fans who want to deepen their understanding of well-being in an engaging, relatable way.
As a professional composer and facilitator with Purple Songs Can Fly, Tricia works with pediatric cancer patients at Texas Children's Hospital, helping them write and record original songs as a creative outlet for expression and healing. This groundbreaking program has produced over 3,000 songs that have literally flown around the world and into space.
